Whats New?
7/3/08
It is officially summer. The rhubarb is almost finished and the potatoes are all flowering. We're plowing in mowed thick stands of rye covercops to make way for oats/peas, buckwheat and clover that will all help next years crops. We still have a good selection of herb plants and will continue to bring them to market all summer. We'll have pepper transplants for just a few more weeks (Plant now!!). Potatoes are garlic will be ready as early as the end of the month. Fresh herbs are plentiful. Our meat selection is a litle limited but we should be getting hot dogs, chorizo, and andouille sausage back from our butcher next week. There will be more pork around the end of August and Beef starting in September (maybe the late part). We are doing a small number of chickens and are not doing turkeys this year.
The Ithaca Farmers Market is in full swings (every Saturday from 9-3). Meat and eggs are still available at the farm year round.

Kingbird Farm produces a diverse array of certified organically raised meats, produce, and value-added items. Our products include: certified organic pork, chicken, turkey, eggs, culinary herbs, and produce (includes onions, garlic, shallots, potatoes, and other vegetables). We also raise grassfed Highland X Angus beef. Our field work is done with the use of our Belgian and Haflinger horses and our daughters Fjord horse Mira.
We are certifed organic by NOFA-NY Certified Organic LLC (a USDA accredited certifier) for our produce, pastures, piglets, chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, and eggs.
Our products are currently available by preorder, at our self serve store on the farm and the Ithaca Farmers Market. We try to market everything we raise no farther than 30 miles from the farm. Support your local farmer! We are at the market every Saturday from April to December. Meat and eggs are always available self serve on the farm. Our eggs are also available at GreenStar Cooperative Market in Ithaca, NY.
